Santa Cruz Playground Project to be featured on tonight’s news.  Tentatively, the 5 p.m. news will have a shorter story and the 6 p.m. news a longer feature.  We had fun talking with Phil and his cameraman out at Chanticleer Park.

Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors

On June 9, 2015, the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously in support of SCPP’s plan to design, fund-raise, and build an inclusive playground at Chanticleer Park in Live Oak. The SCPP is excited to be moving on to the next design phase with their partners:  Shane’s Inspiration, Chanticleer Parks Neighbors, and the County of Santa Cruz.  Big thanks to Susan Mauriello, SC CAO and all the members of the board, especially John Leopold, for giving us the green light.

If you would like to be there when the board votes on this motion be there by 9 a.m when the session starts.  The plan is to allow for a few comments about the project at the beginning of the session and then pass the item along with the rest of the items on the consent agenda.

The Board of Supervisors meets at the county building, 701 Ocean Street, Room 500.  Handicapped accessibility is through the courthouse entrance to the right of the county building.  The parking lot can sometimes be fairly full.  Handicapped spaces are by the courthouse side.
